Blakeney School

Welcome to Blakeney Church of England Primary School!

So what is so special about Blakeney School? As you look around this website you will see why we are so proud of our school, our children and their achievements. At this school every child really does matter. Our curriculum and ethos are designed to support and give children the skills they need to: stay safe, enjoy and achieve, follow a healthy lifestyle, prepare for their future, manage money and make a difference in their local community.

Blakeney School is set within the beautiful village of Blakeney, also serving children and their families from the local villages of Cley, Glandford and Wiveton. Our local community supports the school really well, most recently helping to raise over £20,000 to purchase a brand new minibus! The school has active productive links with many local organisations including the Glaven Centre, Historical Society, National Trust and Norfolk Wildlife Trust, Blakeney Players, Blakeney Pre-school and the Wells Field Study Centre. Throughout the year children learn about our local environment, why Blakeney is registered as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Children are well supported in their learning by these organisations. Visitors to our school comment on how friendly our children are and how they look after one another.

Fence Art!

Children learn in small mixed-age classes which are well supported by teaching assistants. The curriculum is rich and varied encouraging children to learn more creatively. The children make educational visits linked to the topic areas they are studying.

Blakeney is in partnership with Hindringham Primary School. Staff work together and share planning, ideas and resources. Children benefit from educational visits and activities through the sharing of costs.

For the future we are developing our outside play spaces so children can relax, play and learn in the best environment we can provide. We aim to develop the beech plantation so children understand all the environmental benefits of access to and use of woodland. We believe that making learning enjoyable and interesting is vital to children's success as learners.

We hope you will enjoy browsing our site. If you are a parent or carer and would like to visit, please contact us.

We look forward to welcoming you!
